• Unruly pets which may also be destructive.
• "Hyper-active". Even after daily exercise & play.
• Pacing inside the house when feeling anxious.
• Chewing up objects daily can be an issue.

In many cases, a young dog may not be releasing all their energy, due to lack of enough running and play off the leash.
If you change this for them, you will see that they are more settled and less or not interested in chewing up objects or digging holes or barking etc. It is all nervous over-energized animals.

If just hyperactive or pacing (especially at night) also look at asking your vet about testing for Hyperthyroid imbalances especially if clinging and pacing at night in the older dogs - physical and emotional level support. Making sure that your young teenager pup is getting two to three times daily of running about - off the lead.

They need to burn off some of their excess energy

At least a minimum of play and running of 10 minutes, once to twice a day. As many repeats if energy-releasing activities each day while growing up will really help settle your pet. Even small terrier dogs etc are full of energy so just because they are small does not mean that don't need to run about and play.
